The Army Brat me

When I was 3 months old we moved.  About every 3 years we moved.  We’d been stationed at 7 posts by the time I turned 13. I grew up in Europe.  I love MREs (the newer ones kinda suck but the older ones had freeze dried strawberries YUM!) Traveling is in my soul.  Diversity is my norm.  Acronyms are part of daily conversation.  I proudly wear paper poppies. I hate the girls who hang out places they know soldiers will be just to hook one for the benefits.  I have no respect for you if you cheat on a soldier while she/he is deployed.  I HATE this “war” and wish we’d never gone. I know that now that we’re over there we have to fix what we broke so to speak but I want our soldiers brought home soon.  I’ll never join the army but have mad respect for those who can.  It bugs me when people call a post a base or vice versa. It confused me to no end when I turned 23 and had to figure out the civilian health care system.  I miss the PX and commissary. AFN “commercials” and jingles still are quoted and sung between my sisters and I.  I’m opinionated because my father raised me to be.

Wow i can connect, me im the same but im 14. I dont want to see whats going to happen next. My father died in Iraq 2 years ago right after his son, my brother, had just been born & he had just married my mom. My mother is in the military also and when have moved all over this world & she has been to so many places for duty & has to leave me & my brother behind. As we speak right now im in Georgia and she’s in Maryland. I hate moving & i hate this war & i hate meeting new people. I just want a life of consistances.
