The first night of BlogHer’11 was a whirlwind. I arrived in San Diego, checked into the hotel, and like any good little displaced California girl found my way to the nearest In-N-Out (which I reached by trolley!). (I’d tweeted my peeps and they were already out to eating by the time I’d arrived). On my return to the hotel my phone battery began to die, because of course it did. It held out long enough for Heather to give me her coordinates (confusing as they were at the time) although by the time I reached the Big red A (which was actually a white A on a red background) she was no longer there (but i digress).
And then there we were @Lisa_V, @Hedra, @BarbSobel, @SheepsEatingMe, @SiobhanWolf, @JuliaRoberts1…except in the flesh and when we had things to say that were more than 140 characters we didn’t have to wait for a computer screen to refresh. We could poke each other and hug each other and hold hands under the table in anticipation of stupid adoption comments that in that instance didn’t come. We talked and laughed and cried. We walked the expo hall floor and got sex toys and soap and notebooks and other random items. We bitched and laughed some more. I won’t bore you with a word my word account of the entire weekend but there will be stories I must share. Stories of how I tried to own my title of “birth mom” and it didn’t always go so well and i also fucked up and outed someone else in the process (I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry) Hallmark doesn’t make an I’m sorry I outed you in public card…they should get on that. But I hear I’ll be publicly chastised on her blog so i’ll have another opportunity to apologize profusely 
Also stories of how I get braver with a wing-woman and own my point of view even against celebrity handlers. Stories of friends offering comfort and strangers offering prayer. Yes I do have stories, and they will be coming, but for now I leave you with a few pictures.

I enjoyed getting to meet you at BlogHer. In case you don’t remember I ate lunch with y’all on Friday. At least I think it was Friday, everything is sorta a blur now. I am an online friend of Jenna’s. I am enjoying reading your blog and getting to know you better online. And yes, I’m running behind but PTO crap has kept me running around like a chicken with my head cut off.
